I came to Dave over a year ago with a bunch of really challenging cover-up work to be done. It's possible I may or may not have had a tri-colored car on my forearm with what appeared to be a golf club for an antennae. It is completely covered and the artwork that's there looks fantastic. I have a sleeve and a half with no plans to stop any time soon. Best artist I have ever visited. I will never get tattooed by anyone else. I recommend Rockwell Tattoo to anyone!

By far the nicest and cleanest shop I have been to. Janelle and everyone in there was super friendly and welcoming. I didn't at all feel intimidated even though I'm new to tattoos. I will definitely go back again.

Zion just started working on my sleeve but it's already amazing! I can't say enough good things, but: he took incredibly thorough notes during the consult, clearly listened to what I wanted, offered a bunch of possibilities and also explained what would work well versus what wouldn't read as well on skin--and he absolutely nailed what I was looking for. Can't wait for the next session! All the artists there seem really nice and definitely very skilled. As a nurse, I appreciate their commitment to safety as well-that's obviously huge for me. Bonus: It's a neat building, too!

An amazing shop with top tier Artists!! Charline has done multiple tattoos, large and small for me. Every one of them she has taken my ideas and turned them into amazing pieces, that I am proud to show off and tell everyone where I've had them done. She works efficiently and is always a pleasure honestly one of the nicest people you'll meet. The shop is clean and professional and I have yet to run into an unpleasant artist working there. If I could rate them higher than 5 I would 100/100 would recommend to anyone.

I did not have a great experience.

I was so excited when booking my appointment in December of 2021. I booked it with Janelle for 2.7.22.
Four days before the appointment, I asked for a mock up of the tattoo and some pricing information. I got no response.
On the day of my appointment, Janelle had to cancel, no problem. She said she’d get back to me to book a new appointment. She didn’t. I reached out a week later to rebook. She asked about March 8th and I stated I couldn’t. We then decided on March 18th.
On 3.6.22 I got an automated text asking to confirm my appointment for 3.8.22. I then reached out to Janelle to tell her about this and she stated she got a new phone and must’ve forgotten to put in. So ANOTHER appointment missed-at no fault of my own. I asked about the 18th hoping I was at least down for that day. Sadly, no. She hadn’t actually booked me.

At this point, I’m irritated and asked for my deposit back. She refused even though I wasn’t at fault for missing these appointments. I still wanted the tattoo but now her books were full and the next appointment I could get would be 6.25.22-pretty much 6 months later as I booked on 12.3.21.

Sadly, today, I chose to cancel this appointment. Within the last week, Janelle chose to rant(on social media) about a customer that was upset for having his appointment cancelled, by Janelle-without the option of a deposit refund. Now, Janelle had a legit reason to need to cancel and I completely understand that things come up in life that you can’t move or avoid. However, when you work in the service industry people will get upset when they’ve paid for a service they didn’t get(at no fault of their own). Things happen that are out of our control but her unprofessional and rude response was 100% in her control. I just kept thinking, what if I was the person she was ranting about? In the end, it wasn’t her talent that lead me to cancel-it was sheer lack of respect for clients/potential clients and pure unprofessionalism.

I got my first tattoo from Janelle, who made it a great experience. She explained everything before starting and gave me a great tattoo. It explains why she books up so quickly for tattoo appointments.

Got this piece by Janelle and she KILLED it! I couldn’t have imagined it coming out better. The environment was relaxed and staff was friendly. Great experience.

Janelle designed and inked a heartfelt tattoo for me...my first, but not my last. I am impressed with the precautions put into place during the current COVID surge and appreciate the excellent communication by Janelle...from booking to the after care instructions. Janelle's heart and hands are full of talent and kindness. I'm super grateful, after years of waiting to get the right design, artist and courage, I landed at Starkweather in Janelle's chair.

This studio is phenomenal, extremely clean and the staff is amazing. I drove from the twin cities area, just for my half sleeve to be done by Andy. And let me tell you - it was totally worth it! It turned out better than I imagined; he did an amazing job. I will be making the trip again, and recommend this studio to anyone looking for great artists and an awesome environment.

Only needed a simple memorial tattoo but Janelle was beyond great! Professional, engaging, answered all questions and made sure it was perfect. Excellent artist and completely thrilled. Shop was busy but safe and clean. Absolutely recommend!!!!
