place was nice and clean and the artists can definitely tattoo. But idk if they thought Iβm not familiar with tattoos because theyβre not visible on my body but he tried to charge me 180 not including tip... to do 3 quarter sized tattoos. π donβt let your anxiety make you pay $50-100 more for a tattoo that You can get done for a reasonable price. ( thereβs a shop down the same street who will do it for cheaper )

My first time there and the person who did my tattoo seemed really bothered and was rude. He kept giggling at the fact that I kept asking him to move the placement of the tattoo because it was a small one. Even if I was getting a small tattoo I would like for it to be perfect because itβs permanent. A tattooist should not be rushing at all or make you seem silly about asking them to place it in different spot so you could chose whatβs best. I didnβt like the way he was drawing it and I asked him to print it off instead . This was the worst experience.

Both times I went in to the shop I was just a walk-in and didn't make any appointment. Both times I was tattooed by the same artist. The work he did was good but the way that they acted and spoke with the other employees while I was getting tattooed was unprofessional in my opinion. I think that he was unfocused while tattooing me and I think that it shows in my tattoo which I am very disappointed about. My tattoo will need a touch up but I don't even really want to go back to the studio.. Completely devistated that my tattoo has faded so much for such a high price.

The first time I went to this location I thought the staff and everything was just "ok". Their prices were extremely high and nothing made them stand out from any other tattoo shop. I returned for a touch-up with the employee that had originally done my tattoo ( Evan English) and he was extremely rude and completely disrespectful. The whole time I was getting my touch up he was speaking unkindly to me and grumbling under his breath upset he had to touch up my tattoo. I have 3 other tattoos and have always gotten them touched up. When i orginally went he told me that he would of course touch up my tattoo. When I called and made an appointment he was unkind over the phone and tried to convince me out of stopping by. I have a very small VERY simple tattoo. That didn't take more than 15 minutes to do originally. The touch up took him 2 minutes and my wrist is bruised from how hard he was pressing down. It also continues to bleed. I have never had some be that rough with me while getting a tattoo or press that hard. I asked him kindly to fix some of the small shading my tattoo had and he got very rude and pretty much just made random lines over the shading that looks awful. I have never been to a place where the staff was that disrespectful. I was planning on returning for another tattoo but I will never go back there ever again.

Jay did an amazing job on my tattoo and my husbands he was very professional and the work area was comfortable and clean. We didnt really have an exact idea of what we wanted but jay came up with some awesome sketches for us and we loved them!

Great place for your first tattoo or a full sleeve. I'm currently being tattoo'd by Jarrett Ward and it has been an all around great experience! Everyone is professional and personable. Strongly recommended!!!

Clean place. Staff is nice.
Had a tattoo done by an artist there. I was pretty happy with it, but one of the colors needed to be retouched. When I tried to reach the artist at his website, he didn't respond so I called Short North Tattoo. They said he had since left the store. I asked if I could come in and have it retouched (I didn't say I wanted it free or if I'd pay). They conferred with someone off the phone then replied back that they wouldn't retouch someone else's tattoo. When I responded back that I had it done there, they said they still wouldn't do it. I think that's pretty poor customer service.

Ben Hatfield is trash. He makes fun of his clients on social media, like Tiktok, making a bad rep for the shop. He should really think twice before posting stuff and correlating it with his place of employment.

Matt Carlisle and the artists at Short North Tattoo are fantastic. The shop maintains the artistic flavor of the Short North District. I was kindly greeted by owner/artist Matt Carlisle who helped me create my awesome tattoo. Artist Giovani Faenza did my tattoo and he did an outstanding job. I would definitely go back to Short North Tattoo and recommend them to anyone.

Clean, comfortable atmosphere. Artists do a good job keeping their spaces sanitary. And Miller is amazing! Will be going back again for my next piece.
