Searched high and low for a dope artist to do a cover up and found him. Cuong was very helpful in helping come up with the right piece and we came up with a sick werewolf ripping out of my skin. His staff was on point and very professional. I’m definitely going back for more art masterpieces.

I went in to get some flowers on my forearm done by Myles, whom of which was giving me different prices and evidently decided to up charge me. I was very eager to having it done, and I'm sure he could see that so he knew he could probably get away with a few extra $$$. I honestly think he is very talented, however, there were a few things that disappointed me. First, I was never told prior to coming in, they only accept cash. I was caught off guard since we are going through a pandemic, most places don't even accept cash and due to everyone's safety, card is preferred. Since I was eager to having it done, I ran around trying to find a place to get cash out, but would've greatly appreciated the heads up. After about an hour or two into the session, he decided to leave and go to his house to pick something up which was completely irrelevant to tattooing, so I just sat there in the shop and waited. After the first session, I wanted to set up an appointment to get it touched up. I was stuck in traffic for 2hrs (both ways) just to get there and have him tell me he couldn't do anything that day. Just like the "cash only" issue, I would've GREATLY appreciated a heads up so I didn't have my time wasted. Finally, after setting up another appointment for the touch up, he wanted more money so I felt as though he was pressuring me into tipping him. I don't mind tipping people for their time and work, but my tattoo is not worth the amount I paid for. And the last thing that didn't sit right with me was him talking bad about another client. I think that is completely unprofessional and I can only imagine what he has said about me to other clients. He is a talented guy and it's unfortunate that I just had a very bad experience with him. I feel as though he only really cared about making money. I hope I'm the only one that received this type of unprofessionalism because I don't think anyone else should go through that.

So, I really owe Cuong a huge thank you and to be honest I should've written this review in June once the tattoo was complete and healed up. The reason behind the review now is that I am going back to him in the upcoming year to have him do another full sleeve and back piece. You get what you pay for and Cuong is an artist, not just a tattooist. I've had people mistake my arm for compression shirts and gotten more than a fair share of people asking where I got the work done to the point I started handing out his card. I cannot stress enough how happy I am with this work of art he tattooed on my arm.

When I first started doing research on a place and artist I told Cuong I wanted a full sleeve biomechanical tattoo, I sent him some reference images and we talked about it over a few weeks. He texted me the day before my appointment and told me to come in and he would draw it on my arm to better match my whole arm and not look like a copy and paste job. Best choice in my opinion. He took his time to follow the muscles on my arm and make sure that the image looked organic and followed my body lines. Once the outline was done he went to work and I can honestly say that after every session I was astounded. He had a vision from outline to finished product that I couldn't even begin to grasp until I saw it as a whole piece. The shading, the line work, the depth. Everything about this tattoo makes me happy, being in his element and watching him work was kind of inspiring. He is passionate about his art and it shows in the details. The way he took 3 reference images I sent him and turned it in to one piece that I still look at every day like "Wow, that is really on there" is amazing to me and I'm grateful for his work.

He is respectful and would constantly check in to make sure the pain wasn't unbearable. He was very relaxed during every session and any conversation with him was easy and enjoyable.

Everyone at Amour is a pleasure to talk to and be around, I spent some 30 odd hours there under the needle and they made me feel like a friend.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a friendly environment that produces stellar artwork in the form of tattoos.

Amour Tattoo is one of the best tattoo parlors in the entire DMV area! Ok, first their work is super clean and top quality, just check their website. I got my first tattoo here yesterday and the experience was amazing! The staff there were really helpful and they even did their own little twist on the artwork before they did the tattoo, which looked way more better than what I found online. I'm definitely coming back to get another tattoo in the future and these guys are awesome!!!!

I've been searching for over 20 years for a specific tattoo artist with skill and personality and I found that in Cuong at Amour Tattoo. I'm in my beginning stages of several sessions, but the outline is amazing and I'm confident the finished product will be stellar.

I had a particular look in mind, though I couldn’t quite describe it. I found some pictures of work done by Cuong at Amour Tattoo @cuong_tatt and knew I wanted him to be my artist. I reached out online via their website and was pleasantly surprised to receive a timely response.
Cuong is amazing to work with. He LISTENS to what his client is asking for. He COUNSELS to give feedback and TEACHES why different elements will or may not work well. The design he came up with need minor tweaking and I appreciated all of his feedback.
The work itself is art. Pure and simple. Proud to give this shop 5 stars!

I showed cuong some ideas of what I wanted and he was able to hand draw a great version of what I wanted. After 2 sessions it looked incredible. The lines were clean and the Polynesian product was amazing. Staff was personable. Going back to get some old work from other artists touched up and fixed .
