Tattoos are the best kind of hobby: the kinds in which you get to lie down and make someone else do all the work. (Amirite, ladies—no, let’s just let that one go.)
I LOVE tattoos, and choosing the perfect artist requires a level of trust and optimism: your artist will be skillful, they will understand and share your particular vision, and, crucially, that at least one of you will to double-check the sketches before committing it to your flesh forever.
I chose All Saints Tattoo on 6th Street for all the reasons above and could not have been more blown away by the professionalism, design, cleanliness, respect, and attention-to-detail.
Shaun Newman was my rockin’ artist and he took my idea and transformed it to an over-the-top piece of art that exceeded any and all expectations I could have ever wished for. He spent a great deal of time to make sure my upcoming work was perfect before we even started with the needle-- and ensured I was completely happy before the working on my awesome Tradition-style Wonder Woman tattoo.
All could not have been accomplished if Shaun- as a true artist- did not have deep pride in his work and a keen eye for attention to detail like he so clearly showed.
I'm so impressed that I will drive back from San Antonio to Austin for all future appointments.

I wanted a duplicate tattoo of a simple and small one I already had. The artist insulted my tattoo, wanted to charge me $120 for about 10 min worth of work (double what I expected), and said it was non negotiable. My impression was that they were overpriced and arrogant. Maybe they're the greatest artists on Earth, I'll never know.

Went in for a tattoo on Friday the 13th. The artist chastised me for quickly getting advice from my friend when I said hey this looks crooked. I felt like I didn’t have a choice. He was rude. He made a joke out of it being my first tattoo and saying that that was a weird time to get a tattoo on Friday the 13th. I felt disrespected and won’t be going back to this shop. The art itself looks great it’s just slightly crooked. I’ll be going to another artist to add to it and make it look how I want.

I happened upon Jon Reed 16 years ago. He's done all five of my tattoos and I love every one! He manages to put my crazy ideas and rambling descriptions into beautiful, custom works of art. There are more in the works and you better believe I'll be seeing Jon for all of them!

I’ve had three tattoos here done at two visits (one with Lalo, the other with Austin Gervais). I love this place. Everyone here is so friendly and they really care about giving you something that’s awesome. Highly recommend.

Just got my 4th and 5th Friday the 13th tattoos and I was a little bummed with the end product. I’m a huge fan of studio ghibli movies so I was stoked to see Totoro and a cute little soot sprite were added to the flash sheets. My guy was really nice and we chatted but I noticed a few things wonky after my initial happiness of finally getting these much longed for tattoos. The lines aren’t very smooth and they seem to squiggle in places they shouldn’t. Totoro’s eyes and nose are all wacked out of shape and the soot sprite has a coloring outside the line malfunction going on. I’m going to try to get these touched up/fixed but this place is normally super awesome with their Friday the 13th tattoos. I’ve been here the past 2 events and left with great pieces. I just wasn’t very lucky this time around.
Update: The owner, Jon took very good care, touching up my wonky pieces. He did it free of charge and I couldn’t be happier with the end result.

Love Hannah, A friend and I drove from Fort Worth (where Hannah was previously located) just to see her. She is a true artist and has the ability to listen, to look at suggestions and draw something that looks as though she's just taken a walk through my imagination! She's an all around awesome person and I won't see anyone else for a tattoo.
