Diligent Tattoo

My husband surprised me with an appointment at Diligent Tattoo for my 40th birthday present. We went to their brand new location downtown Wilmington. This place was the nicest, cleanest, most beautifully decorated tattoo shop I’ve ever been to. Mike and Kayla were so welcoming and made me feel at home. I chose to get paw prints to honor the three pets we lost last year. Without judgement or hesitation Mike loved the prints and even made them way bigger for me. The process by Mike was so gentle and relaxing that I almost fell asleep! This is the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had and they have my support for life! I cant wait to visit Kayla for my next tattoo! Please go visit them! You will be so happy you did!!

I found my new home!! The new location was easy to find & when you walk in the vibe is so chill. I specifically asked for Yuri, she did such an amazing job on both of my leg tattoos!! She was precise, patient, steady and a badass artist!

My best friend and I got tattoos here together and these folks did an outstanding job! They really went out of their way to make sure we liked the stencil and our artist, Chad, was super funny and made us feel at home. The shop was very clean- you definitely notice that the staff takes care of it!

Don't waste your time and money! They cancel appointments as you walk in the door! The work is OK at best I've seen better from other shop's in Wilmington! Has been two months on the start of my sleeves the owner want return texts or calls to do ''free'' touch up or to finish my sleeves! They will do a ''free'' touch up if you pay to start a new peace! So if you like getting screwed and having appointments cancelled at the last minute this is the place for you! P.S Sorry to the people that I told about this place when I first started going here!

This shop provides a professional , clean and friendly environment. The staff knows their craft well and interact with their clients for the best possible experience. Hands down the best place in Wilmington to get your tattoos.

Excellent customer service. Incredibly skilled artists. In exploring getting my first tattoo, employees have gone out of their way to give me all the information I need to make my experience as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend Diligent Tattoo to anyone considering getting a new tattoo or cover up. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else in town. Michael Merck is extremely skilled at doing portrait work as well as comic book characters. Their apprentices are great at black and gray as well as classic designs in color. Anyone you see up there is going to do an excellent job. If you go to Diligent, you are sure to get an excellent tattoo my friendly and professional artist whether you have them design it or you bring in your own artwork.

My favorite shop in North Carolina! Was going to one of the bigger, "higher profile" shops in Wilmington, but started going here years ago and never looked back. Merck does excellent work and is usually the one that tattoos me, but I've been tattooed by almost every artist there, they're all great! Book an appointment sooner than later if you have a tattoo idea, because they book up quick.

Walked in with a group of 4 and luckily they were not busy, we got set up immediately. Aldo was great and explained everything to us. Clean, friendly, did exactly what my boyfriend and I wanted beautifully. Great prices, great shop.

We made an appointment with James Reese to do a tattoo for my boyfriend. His first tattoo. We worked on a tattoo design that he would love. We came in and gave him the sketch and an hour and a half later he came out with a totally different design. We told him in the beginning that he could change the outside shading but the rest we wanted the way we presented it to him. When we told him we wanted it like our drawing he had an attitude and said he didn't have time to do the tattoo now. He then proceeded to say that his drawing was better than mine. What does that matter? In my opinion and I would believe it to be true for most, tattoos are very personal and meaningful. How unprofessional! I would never recommend him to anyone. A total letdown! So if you want a tattoo that you have no say so in; this is the place to go and he is your guy. If you want a tattoo that you want, go to someone else. There is probably a reason they are standing around while other artist are slammed. Hopefully he will jump down off that high horse and realize treating others with respect is much more profitable.
