I have been going here for years and have had the best work done from this place. Kelly is one of the most genuine people I have ever met in my life and not only is she a badass but so is her work. These people are so professional and I love them like my family. I have been tattooed by Jack Cox and I will always recommend these people and their professionalism. I have had some bad ink done by someone who isn’t a professional artist and I went there to get it fixed. Jelly jumped on that and brought my tattoos to life and made them look amazing! 10/10 rating’

I have had all of my tats done here and most of my piercings. From Stan and Clint, who are no longer there 🙁 to Jack, Kelly and all rest who are, they’re amazingly friendly and professional. You’re among friends when you walk in and their work is outstanding! I won’t go anywhere else!

I just got a tattoo from here a few weeks ago from Kelly. I brought in a verse I wanted and she made great recommendations and it turned out awesome! She was great...very professional, polite, comforting, and didn't overcharge me. I will be going back for the "many" more tattoos I want in the future.

Can’t say enough good things about this place and my artist Kris. I gave her a pick of what I wanted and she NAILED IT!! can’t be happier! Came out EXACTLY how I wanted it . If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you Kris. You are the bomb!

My tattoo is horrible. It’s been years and it’s getting sooooo much more horrible. DO NOT GET A TATTOO HERE!!!

When I first got the tattoo...the lines were horrible. The loops of the infinity sign is just lines connecting practically and one side is thicker than the other. There is soooo much scarring and the feather is just a dark uneven outline with some “shading”.

Years later, the ink has just bled into my skin (obviously tattoos wear) but the letters are starting to come together and the scarring is still there. It’s just horrible looking.

The person who did my tattoo is the owner of the place I believe, he kept saying he was one of the first parlors to open in Missouri...wow

I went in over the weekend to get a tattoo in memory of my aunt who recently passed away. Kelly was my tattoo artist. I took in a design idea I created and Kelly took the idea and went above and beyond what I could have ever come up with on my own. I cry happy tears every time I look at it!!! She did an absolutely beautiful job. It means so much to me and Kelly was so very sweet. Kelly, thank you from the bottom of my heart! You're amazing and I recommend this studio to anyone looking at getting work done here. The atmosphere is uplifting, happy and all of the artists are incredibly nice. I will be referring all of my family and friends who are wanting tattoos to come here! If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. :)

I messaged Kelly about some lotus flowers that I wanted done after talking to her in the shop and she never got back with me. The shop is seriously run down and needs a facelift badly. It is dirty and old. They had an awesome artist there named Dart and he did stellar work, but he’s moved to a different shop now called Classic Tattoo at 8934 W. 95th St, Overland Park KS. He started a piece before he went to Illustrated Man and then once he got settled there, he picked back up and finished it. He’s now in an awesome shop that is clean and open and the floor isn’t broken and you can actually move in his room. He’s phenomenal in his work and an impeccable man of his word. He would never leave someone “high and dry” and absolutely would never steal money. Never. Go see him at his new shop and get quality work done that you will be proud to show off.

First off let me say that people that get a tattoo and have a bad experience of course they are going to write a bad review and what not. Now with that said...If you want a relaxing and great experience in classic laid back setting with no intimidation, stare downs, ego trip and attitudes then go here. Jack "The Illustrated Man" did my tattoo. It was a very important tattoo that I got from him that was a serious devotion to my faith. The shop was very clean and sterile, The Receptionist was fantastic and she greeted me and with no hesitation engaged in conversation and helped me. I went in and got scheduled a couple hours later with Jack. He was very thorough and explained a better location for my tattoo and didn't just go with the flow and tagged it where I wanted it because it wouldn't of taken the ink at the location that I wanted to do it on in the first place. He is a very considerate Artist and has been doing this for a very long time since I believe he said since 1972. There was no hard core music playing to give you a headache and he had a lot of memorabilia to look at while getting work done from generations of life. Along with movies playing. To me, that is what I needed for the experience. It was a classic flat out awesome setting. His prices are more than fair and and does flat out awesome work! He did my tattoo and nailed it spot on! The ink took well and it turned out well..I don't have the words. Thank you Jack and thank to his Receptionist. Very nice and considerate and respectful. I am going to end this here but just know that I could go on writing good things about this shop. Like I said once again, It all depends on the person as to the environment they like but for me this was it!! Thank you much! Flat out.....I WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!
