BY FAR the best Tattoo experience I have had in my 20 years of getting tattoos. I can only say words like amazed blessed and purely grateful I waited on my idea and design for years and found my new tattoo artist Chico at Black Rose Tattoo. If you live in the ATL area or want an amazing experience where your Tattoo looks like a piece of artwork call or stop by this place. Chico and the other artist are amazing and the vibe is relaxed with a chill variety playlist and they have wifi where I hooked my laptop up ad watched some movies and just kicked back and got my half sleeve. I have one more session to finish my vision and half sleeve but Chico has truly brought that vision to life. Below is a pic from session 1 and will add the finished product once done. I went in yesterday to get a tattoo of the character Ponyo from the movie by Sam because he specializes in anime style tattoo so i thought he was just the guy to do it! I expressed multiple times at the consultation that I just wanted her by herself from a specific frame. When i came in for my appointment he kept trying to add things and he made her slightly different than the exact picture I wanted and by the third time going to sketch it still wasn't exactly the picture that I wanted so he said, respectfully, I should probably just find a different artist at this point because i guess that just wasnt his style. I didn't want to get something I wasn't completely in love with. I had already put down my deposit of $100 and even at the consultation i said i wanted just her, this exact frame that i showed him. I get wanting to add your own touches on it to make it an original, but I wanted the exact picture that made me fall in love with that character; I've wanted this tattoo for years and knew exactly what it wanted, it was a fairly simple design, I just don't understand why I couldn't get that. He said "thats just not my style, its not a tattoo that i would be proud of" despite being exaclty what I, the person getting the tattoo, wanted. So I left, $100 down and tears in my eyes, everyones time wasted. I was so excited but I'm honestly so hurt and disappointed. I guess its my fault though that I should have made sure everyone was on the same page before putting the deposit down to make sure everyone leaves happy. Everyone was nice and professional, but I'm so disappointed.

The piercer did not clean my earlobe off with any alcohol before piercing. I am concerned about infection because of that. Other than that the experience was fine. If you do go to black rose for a piercing I would ask them to make sure to clean the area first. Which I assumed was standard practice. “ Update” The real issue was the piercer did not clean my earlobe at all before piercing it.
