I was so impressed with this shop. Marc has strived to make a shop that is clean, professional, yet up to date. He has done a great job. Everyone in this shop is such a talented artist. Besides being the best tattoo artist, Marc also has one of the biggest hearts towards the people of out town.

Barney pierced ear last week and I was amazed by his professionalism and skill. I have extremely thick cartilage in my ears, which are already extremely small, so he made sure my ear could be pierced. He went over every step of the process beforehand and made sure I was comfortable with it. He also explained the process in perfect layman's terms and sold me a bottle of saline spray for cheap. 100% recommended Barney and Mad Dog for any piercings

Just went back for second time in this tattoo parlor. Chris took good care of me. I was a walk-in, looking for some Mandarin Chinese work on my inner forearm, and adding a little color to an existing Mandarin Chinese tattoo on the other arm, that I got here a couple years ago.
It was just yesterday, but everything seems to be healing up just fine, the colors look great. All pretty quickly, and at a reasonable price.

Bakersfield is probably the last on my list of desirable cities to visit. I live in Los Angeles and there are a plethora of really good tattoo artists here, but even so I wanted Mad Dog tattoo. Mainly because I know they do excellent work, are personable, and hospitable. Mad dog tattoo was able to execute my vision and apply it with their own creative techniques. Throughout the tattooing process I was giving him direction on what to add and what colors to use.... which I could see some tattoo artists would respond with a pretentious attitude. He was very accepting and responsive and that is why I drove over 3 hours to get a tattoo for my birthday. Plus, Mad Dog has a lot of wild rock n roll stories! Thanks Mad Dog tattoo! You rock!

It may look dirty from the outside, but if you call ahead first and then show up, as long as you make yourself known, they'll get right to you. Great customer service, the people there are really friendly and personable. Got our entire family of 5 pierced there. 3 kids (ages 10 and 12) got their ears done here, the 10 year old boy got his cartilage pierced and didn't even flinch. Ask for Kaelin, she's an AMAZING piercer, and such deft and fast hands, she even did my eyebrow (first time getting it) and it only hurt for a split second. But don't listen to her when she talks about Dial soap. I've been told to use sea salt soak. The prices are great, and when the jewelry didn't go through first on our son's cartilage, and she had to get a different piece for him, she didn't charge us for the jewelry or the piercing because she felt bad for making him bleed. The piercings are great, advice, not so much. My eyebrow stings when I clean it with soap, so we'll try the sea salt and see how it goes.
